HP Printers are one of the famous brands in market for their performance and good quality. Though HP Printers are quite advanced they don’t easily get affected by the technical errors but sometimes you might face some issues reason will be how you use your printer. Methods to fix the HP Printer couldn’t print
Step 1: Troubleshoot the error
You can run the troubleshooter to rectify the error. Please follow the below steps
Press the Windows key +R keyboard to open Run
Enter Control Panel in the open box and click on OK
Click troubleshoot to open the window
Click View All to open list of troubleshooters
Now you can right click on the printer name and open Run as Administrator to open the window
Click on NEXT button
Now select the printer that you need to troubleshoot and press the NEXT button. This step will either provide you a complete resolution of the error or at least help till some extent.
Step 2: Use HP Printer and Scan Doctor
If the trouble shooting doesn’t help you then you will have to take help from HP Printer and Scan doctor.
You need to visit the official HP website to download the HP Printer and Scan Doctor
To extract and run HP Print and Scan doctor click on HPPSdr.exe
Go to Start button on the HP Print and Scan Doctor
Select the printer that needs to be fixed and click on NEXT
Select the Fix Printing option
Then you will see a screen which displays what all were fixed by the HP Print and Scan doctor
If at all you see a X sign on the screen then you will have to follow the instruction given in the screen to use the HP Print and Scan Doctor
Step 3: Reinstalling the printer driver software
Sometimes you might face the error because of outdated driver software. So it’s very necessary that you should update your driver time to time. To update the driver you have to visit the official HP website. And follow the guidelines provided.
Step 4: Disconnect the printer and the router
Disconnecting and then reconnecting the printer and the router again will definitely help you. So, first switch off the printer and unplug the printer from the main socket. Then followed by your router and the PC also switch off and unplug from the main socket. Wait for some time then plug the printer and the router again. First you need to switch on the router followed by the PC and at last turn on the printer.
Step 5: Clean the Printer Spooler
Cleaning the spooler files always helps the printer to rectify its errors. Please follow the below steps to clean the spooler files-
Open the Run Window
Enter "services.msc†in the Run box and press the OK button
Double click on the Printer spooler to open the Window shown directly
Select the Stop option
Click on Apply and OK button
Then type %WINDIR%system32spoolprinters in Run and press OK button. This will open a spooler file.
Press Ctrl +A to select all the files then click on delete the files.
